The Council won't help, and the only cure the Scoobs can find is a pretty dire one:

Buffy does her best to bring home the "bad" Slayer, Faith, to cure Angel. No luck. So Buffy has a choice -- watch the love of her life die, or offer her own blood for his cure. Angel, of course, wants nothing to do with the idea of putting Buffy's life in danger for the sake of his own...
